Gender Focal Points


The Gender Focal Points were formally established by the Eleventh Conference of States Parties (see paragraph 25(h) of the CSP11 Final Report).

Terms of reference (upcoming)

Appointment
Gender Focal Points are voluntary positions identified by the Management Committee as part of its discussions on the implementation of CSP decisions and formally approved by the Conference of States Parties. Appointees will serve for two years and may be reappointed. The Committee, with the support of the Secretariat, shall identify at least one Gender Focal Point, but may designate multiple representatives if more than one State Party agrees to act as a Focal Point.

The following three State Party representatives were elected as Gender Focal Points for the period from CSP11 until CSP13: 
  • Mexico
  • Spain
  • Togo
