Working Group on Treaty Universalization (WGTU)

Overview

The Working Group on Treaty Universalization (WGTU) was established by the Second Conference of States Parties to the ATT in 2016 and became a standing Working Group of the Conference by decision of the Third Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty in 2017.

Chairs

 The follwing persons have served as Chairs of the WGTU:

• CSP3: President of the Third Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Klaus Korhonen, of Finland, and the President of the Second Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Emmanuel E. Imohe, of Nigeria

• CSP4: President of the Fourth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Nobushige Takamizawa, of Japan and the President of the Third Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Klaus Korhonen, of Finland

• CSP5: President of the Fifth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Jānis KĀRKLIŅŠ, of Latvia and the President of the Fourth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Nobushige Takamizawa of Japan

• CSP6: President of the Sixth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Carlos Foradori of Argentina, replaced by Ambassador Federico Villegas of Argentina, and President of the Fifth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Jānis KĀRKLIŅŠ, of Latvia

• CSP7: President of the Seventh Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Lansana Gberie of Sierra Leone, and President of the Sixth Conference of States Parties, Ambassador Federico Villegas of Argentina
