The fourth annual ordinary session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty was held at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, in Tokyo, Japan from 20 - 24 August 2018.
Preparations for the Conference included two informal preparatory meetings held in Geneva on 09 March and 01 June 2018 as well as Open-ended consultations on the VTF Terms of Reference on 09 March 2018.
In addition, the three ATT Working Groups established by the Second Conference of States Parties held meetings as follows in conjunction with the informal preparatory meetings:
Working Group on Effective Treaty Implementation (WGETI): 06-09 March and 29-30 May 2018;
Working Group on Treaty Universalization (WGTU): 07 March and 30 May 2018;
Working Group on Transparency and Reporting (WGTR): 08 March and 31 May 2018.
There was also a Joint Meeting of the ATT Working Groups on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 01 June 2018.
