Under Article 5(6) of the ATT, States Parties are required to designate one or more national points of contact to exchange information on matters related to the implementation of the Treaty. States Parties are also required to notify the ATT Secretariat of their National Points of Contact and keep the information updated.
To notify the ATT Secretariat of its National Point(s) of Contact, a State Party should send a Note Verbale via email to the ATT Secretariat at: info@thearmstradetreaty.org with the following details of its current national point of contact(s) for the ATT:
In accordance with Article 5(6) of the ATT, the role of a State’s National Point of Contact is to ‘exchange information on matters related to the implementation of the Treaty.
The ATT Secretariat is developing a guidance document for national points of contact describing the role and possible tasks for that function. The guidance document will be made available on this webpage.
In accordance with the mandate given to it by CSP3, the ATT Secretariat has established a database of current ATT National Points of Contact that is available to States Parties on the Restricted Area of the website.
